Does D7928 supersede D1140?
D7928 is not the same as D1140
D1140 is only determining how much of a sample is passing the no 200 sieve and nothing else. D7928 gives you the silt and clay size fractions. Does that help?
More of a general question. Why are there separate grading analyses for aggregates (e.g. C136/C136M) and civil engineering?

C136 in concrete is generally being used on processed materials, not soil.

Dwayne I have the same issues at time, I will always follow up with the PM or engineer however, I always note my reports in this case that "inadequate sample size, test results may not accurately represent field conditions"

There has already been an ILS for both D6913 and D7928, both are published in the standard.
I can't figure out how to raise hand..... Simple question: How soon do you expect for this new standard to take affect? Then, at what point is D422 removed?
D422 has already been withdrawn
Work items have been taken out for the revision to D6913.
