Hello Dr. Germaine are you aware of what clay minerals were present in the sample you are describing (AASHTO proficiency program ) ?
Athena Huss
59:28
Evan, we will address the questions we can at the end of the presentation. If we do not get to any questions, I am collecting all questions and provide replies with the recording.

Hello Mr. but the representativeness Is nota necessarily bases no More Wright of material; as long as there Is adequate soil sampling
Sarah Zeller
01:07:39
Won't the weight of the particle vary based on the petrology?

01:08:43
Hello everyone! Questions will be addressed at the end of session. We will make every effort to address all questions. Should we not have time to respond to a question, answers will be provided in the follow up email

Does D7928 supersede D1140?
Kendra Adams
01:36:25
D7928 is not the same as D1140
Kendra Adams
01:37:55
D1140 is only determining how much of a sample is passing the no 200 sieve and nothing else. D7928 gives you the silt and clay size fractions. Does that help?
Chris Sondermann
01:38:06
great!
Chris Sondermann
01:38:11
More of a general question. Why are there separate grading analyses for aggregates (e.g. C136/C136M) and civil engineering?
Imtiaz Ahmed
01:38:27
How can I raise hand?
Kendra Adams
01:38:39
C136 in concrete is generally being used on processed materials, not soil.

how would you recommend sieving weakly cemented soils?
Kendra Adams
01:45:02
They are NOT swelling clays

YAY John Malusky can tell you!!
Richard Pacana
01:53:37
Dwayne I have the same issues at time, I will always follow up with the PM or engineer however, I always note my reports in this case that "inadequate sample size, test results may not accurately represent field conditions"

Thanks for the presentation Dr.Germaine.

There has already been an ILS for both D6913 and D7928, both are published in the standard.
Joe Vasquez
02:04:27
I can't figure out how to raise hand..... Simple question: How soon do you expect for this new standard to take affect? Then, at what point is D422 removed?
Kendra Adams
02:04:39
D422 has already been withdrawn
Kendra Adams
02:04:56
Work items have been taken out for the revision to D6913.
